When I playback via firewire into the studiolive from capture, are the solo buttons on SL24 supposed to solo the corresponding channel in capture? The mute works, but not solo. OK, I actually had to go to my SL16 and test that to see if I was missing anything. There shouldn’t be any connection between Capture and the SL other than digital transfer of audio.
Clicking the mute/solo button in the software doesn’t cause the mixer to mute/solo the corresponding channel
Pushing the mute/solo button on the mixer doesn’t cause the software to mute/solo the corresponding channel
VSL will do that but not Capture unless the 24 has a feature I’m unaware of to link to and control Capture which doesn’t seem like the safest idea.

As far as that goes the channel solo doesn’t work on my SL 24 even when not using capture. When I try to solo an aux mix or individule channel, nothing. The only thing coming through is the main mix. Don’t forget the ’CUE’ knob.
The SOLO bus volume of the SL is controlled by the CUE knob.
As a starting point set the CUE to the 12 o’clock position, push SOLO button under the ’Phones’ knob and turn the ’Phones’ up.
